Emergency Home Care Services - CRESS
Are you in immediate need of a Care Support Worker and
assistance in your home? We can provide someone to meet your care
needs at short notice and assist at times when you are in need of
urgent help. Carers Response Emergency Support
Service (CRESS) is an emergency service designed to give
home carers respite and peace of mind.
Many carers worry about what would happen to the person they care
for if they themselves were involved in an emergency or were
suddenly taken ill. CRESS is a membership scheme which works with
home carers and the people with care needs to set up an emergency
plan which outlines what would happen if the carer was suddenly
unable to care for the person in need.
How Does CRESS Work?
CRESS provides peace of mind to home carers by enabling you to plan for an emergency situation when you may be prevented from looking after the person (adult or child) you care for. In an emergency Crossroads will contact those people you have named in your emergency plan to ensure the person you care for is looked after. If the named person is not available, Crossroads will arrange for a qualified Care Support Worker to look after the person for up to 72 hours whilst the emergency is being resolved.
How Much Does CRESS Cost?
The Crossroads Care CRESS emergency homecare service is FREE to home carers. Coventry City Council has contracted with Crossroads Care to provide this service to give the home carer peace of mind. If you have received a carer's assessment then you are automatically entitled to apply. If not, then you must be a home carer who provides regular and substantial homecare for a person with care needs who lives in Coventry.
How Do I Apply for CRESS?
Simply contact Crossroads Care Coventry on 024 7625

will receive a unique membership card to carry with you at all
times. In an emergency Crossroads can be contacted and your plan
