Improving lives for Coventry carers
Latest breaking news
We are delighted to announce Crossroads Care and Coventry Carers Centre are merging to provide a one stop shop to support Carers.
To celebrate the merger the new charity will be called Carers Trust, Heart of England and our aim is to support carers and those they care for with advice, information, training and practical support through the provision of breaks.
Carers Trust Heart of England will continue to provide all the services that each charity has always delivered but will also develop new services carers have told us they need. This is an exciting time for all of our staff as we move ahead into the second half of the current decade. We will continue to use our combined expertise to reach out to every family carer in Coventry and Warwickshire to ensure carers are aware of the support they may be entitled to and ensure we are providing individualized services to meet their needs and the needs of the person they care for. Watch this space as we develop our new website!!!!

Jackie Turnbull Leaving STARS
On the 9th of May we said an emotional goodbye to Jackie Turnbull who has managed Stars for the past 18 years.
Jackie will be missed very much by the Stars staff and the children and young adults with disabilities who attend the respite sessions at the AT7 Sports Centre on a Saturday morning and their informal carers/ parents. Whilst working for Stars Jackie has also worked at Hawkesbury Special Needs School and also worked with the Children's Disability Team supporting parents and carers of children with disabilities.
Jackie has been an integral part of the continuation of Stars, assisting with fund raising and ensuring every opportunity has been used to promote Stars. She has built excellent relationships with the informal carers/ parents of those who attend the sessions, and become a friend to many, offering a listening ear, advice and signposting informal carers/ parents in the right direction when they have required extra support or information. During the sessions at the AT7 Sports Centre Jackie has ensured each attendee enjoyed their time at Stars whilst receiving the individual support they required.
May we take this opportunity to say a really huge thank you to Jackie for her unstinting support over the last 18 years. Jackie really has made a difference and helped so many children and young adults along with their informal carers/ parents. I am sure you will all join me in wishing Jackie well in the future.
